The nugget ice king – full review

Ice quality: The Opal 2.0 produces that soft, chewable nugget ice everyone craves. It’s consistent, not too wet, and the ice holds up well in drinks. If you’re a Sonic ice fan, this is the machine.

Production & capacity: It makes up to 38 lbs per day – enough for parties. The SideTank accessory (included with XL version) stores an extra 3 lbs, so ice doesn’t melt quickly. Without SideTank, the bin holds about 1.5 lbs.

Ease of use: Setup takes 10 minutes. The machine alerts you when water is low or bin is full. Cleaning cycle is straightforward (every 2 weeks recommended). Wi-Fi lets you schedule cleaning or check ice level from phone.

Noise level: Much quieter than first-gen Opal. It’s noticeable but not disruptive – you can watch TV nearby.
